Harlem

Harlem is a traditionally black neighborhood in upper Manhattan. Harlem's "golden age" was the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s, where it was a center of creative and intellectual activity and the birthplace of a great deal of literature and artwork. In more recent times, much of Harlem became rather run-down - in my exploration, I noticed a great deal of empty space. Though Harlem is in need of some major revitalization, and I did notice a small number of houses being renovated, it's going to require a great deal of resources to hatch a new "Harlem Renaissance."
